Proving that you can sometimes find useful information in the most unusual places, saw this post on Gossip Cop explaining legal restrictions around papz photos in residential areas. Good answer for people asking where the "money shot" was:

People keep asking why there are no pics of Rob coming out of the house or going in. Very simple - taking pictures on personal property is a felony under the provisions of California privacy law, civil code 1708.8. which defines trespass and physical invasion of privacy to include "technological trespass" - that is, invading personal property through the use of telephoto lens with the intent to capture visual images.
Penalties for violating the provision would make the photographer, the photo agency and any outlet that bought the pictures liable for general and punitive damages that could run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and fines of up to $50K each.
So the minute Rob is on ground that can be defined as Kristen's property, any picture taken of him violates that law. And if the property line of LF2 includes street rights - and since its a gated community with street parking it most likely does - even a picture of Rob getting out of the car would be a violation. (Note: that's why the pictures of Kristen taken outside LF1 after the SWATH tour ended at the start of the driveway)
BTW - This is the law that compelled PopSugar to take down the pictures of Kristen's pool last year. And that's probably why no pap has crossed this specifc line with these two since then.
